What is the placement test?
See Video Response Below.
A placement test is a test given to determine a student's ability level in academic areas such English, reading, math and science. The most common placement tests are: ACT, COMPASS, SAT, and ASSET. Many colleges use placement test scores to determine eligibility for admissions. ASU-Newport does not have a minimum placement score for Admissions, but does use placement scores to determine if a student is prepared for college level courses. Students that make below 19 in math, English, and/or reading are placed in developmental courses designed to prepare them to be successful in the college level courses.
